Taking Accrete D3 (calcium and vitamin D3) at the same time as atenolol may reduce the amount of atenolol your body absorbs. This could make the atenolol less effective at lowering your blood pressure or controlling your heart rate.

Calcium salts can interfere with the way the gut absorbs certain beta-blockers like atenolol, leading to lower levels of the medicine in your bloodstream.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou should ideally separate the doses of these two medicines by at least 2 hours. Do not stop taking either medication without consulting your doctor. Your doctor may want to monitor your blood pressure more closely when you start or change your dose of Accrete D3.
