Why this happens
Amlodipine is a 'calcium channel blocker'. It works by blocking calcium from entering the muscle cells of your heart and blood vessels, which helps them relax and lowers blood pressure. Because Adcal-D3 increases the amount of calcium in your body, it can theoretically 'oppose' the effect of the medicine, making it slightly less effective.

There is also a very small risk of a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome, though this is much more likely if you are also taking antidepressants.
