Why this happens

Mounjaro is a GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist that delays 'gastric emptying' (the speed at which food and medicine leave the stomach). Agomelatine is an antidepressant that is absorbed through the digestive system. While no specific problems have been reported, any medicine that slows the stomach could potentially delay the time it takes for agomelatine to start working.

You can generally take these two medicines together. Because Mounjaro can affect your digestion, pay attention to whether your mood or sleep patterns change when you start or increase your dose of Mounjaro. If you feel your antidepressant is not working as well as usual, or if you experience new side effects, speak to your doctor.
