Why this happens
Alendronic acid is very sensitive to other substances in the stomach. Chondroitin supplements often contain minerals or large molecules that can bind to the alendronic acid, creating a complex that the body cannot absorb into the bloodstream.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou should take alendronic acid first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water. Wait at least 30 minutes (preferably 60 minutes) before taking your chondroitin supplement or any other food, drink, or medication.
