Taking these two medicines together can cause your blood pressure to drop lower than intended. This might make you feel dizzy, light-headed, or faint, especially when you stand up quickly from a sitting or lying position. It can also increase the risk of dehydration or changes in your body's salt levels (electrolytes).

Why this happens
Both amlodipine and torasemide are used to lower blood pressure, but they work in different ways. Amlodipine relaxes your blood vessels, while torasemide is a 'water tablet' (diuretic) that helps your body get rid of excess salt and water. When used together, their effects add up, which can sometimes lower blood pressure too much.
