Why this happens

Apixaban is a blood thinner (anticoagulant) and furosemide is a water tablet (diuretic). They work through completely different pathways in the body and do not interfere with each other's absorption, metabolism, or effectiveness.

You can safely take these two medicines together as prescribed by your doctor. Ensure you attend your regular blood tests to check your kidney function, and stay well-hydrated unless your doctor has given you specific fluid restrictions.
