Why this happens
Atorvastatin and betahistine are processed by different pathways in the body. Atorvastatin is primarily broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, while betahistine is broken down by an enzyme called monoamine oxidase (MAO). Because they do not compete for the same 'processing machinery' and have different effects on the body, they do not interfere with each other.
