Taking mirtazapine and pericyazine together can make you feel very drowsy, dizzy, or confused. It may also increase the risk of a rare but serious heart rhythm problem. Both medications can cause dry mouth, blurred vision, and constipation, which may become worse when they are used at the same time.

Why this happens
Both drugs have 'sedating' effects on the brain and nervous system, which add together when taken together. They also both have 'anticholinergic' effects (blocking certain nerve signals) and can both affect the electrical activity of the heart (prolonging the QT interval).
What you should do

Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these medicines affect you. Seek medical help immediately if you feel your heart racing, experience fainting, or feel very dizzy.

Eye health (Glaucoma)
Do not take this medicine if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, as it can significantly increase the pressure inside your eye and lead to sudden vision loss.

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking these medicines. Both mirtazapine and pericyazine can make you feel very sleepy, and alcohol will significantly increase this effect. It can also affect your coordination and ability to think clearly.

Large amounts of caffeine may interfere with the effects of pericyazine. Try to keep your intake of tea, coffee, and caffeinated soft drinks consistent and moderate.

This happens because both medicines work by increasing the level of a chemical called serotonin in your brain.
